What is Giving? It is an exchange. Everything in life has been given to us and we own nothing, therefore we are required to give. We are stewards of God’s resources and accountable to heaven. Luke 16 vs 10-12 (AMP)
Take your parents for example, they gave you life, sent you to school and expect your salary when you start working likewise God expects us to give back to him. Imagine you give someone 100k and she spends 50k on suya first, the next month you give her 200k and she spends 100k on ice cream in this economy. How would you feel ? Would you give her more money? That’s how you behave to God when He blesses you with your salary and you refuse to give or tithe because you claim it’s small or you forget.
When we don’t give, ask yourself what Kingdom you are partnering with?. Giving is a form of partnership with God to bless others and you can start with your low salary of 20k. Crazy giving is an attitude and God blesses these givers.
One of the benefits of the tithes is that the devourer will be rebuked for your sake. The devourers could be sickness, accidents, unplanned bills etc.
Giving is a concept of Trust. 1 Kings 17 vs 8- 13, Prov 11 vs 24- 25. You don’t need to have enough to give, start from where you are. The mystery of giving is that you never lack.
Types of giving
Worship seed – offerings.
Covenant seed – Tithes.
Prophet offering and shepherd seed- seeds given to Men of God.
Foundation seed – Kingdom projects.
Honour seeds – Giving to parents.
In conclusion, let’s ask God to help us understand this giving. Help our fears and unbelief, help us understand the honour in giving in Jesus’ name, amen!
